I am glad to report that the raised
vegetable patch is proving to be a great success. Everything that I have planted is doing really well . I have had to remove a few plants as I had planted them to close together in my eagerness to grow as much as I could.
The
Green Roof is also exceeding my expectations, giving me a really colourful display. I have had so many positive comments about the roof and I hope to have encouraged some people to give it a go for them selves.
If you would like more advise you can visit
Livingroofs for more information. This is also the view I get from my living room window of the green roof.
I can also look down onto
Pat Austin one of the 3
David Austin roses I have in my garden. On a warm night we get a lovely scent drifting into the living room from the rose....just wonderful.
Last
Sundays post was about the back garden and in particular how strong the smell was coming from my
Mountain Ash tree. Well I can report it is still smelling and attracting bees in numbers I haven't seen before. Several types of bee are buzzing about the flowers and when they get fed up with the mountain ash they drop down to the newly opened
Pavier poppies and have a wander around inside.
It is great fun watching them trying to move around and it is easy to see how they get covered in pollen.
Well I hope you are all having a great time in your gardens, as it is just right for sitting back with a cold beer and admiring all your hard work.....any excuse.

A pink poppy? Oh my oh my...I just HAVE to go find these in our area. Hope we have them here in the USA too. Beautiful.
Love your box gardens, and the 'green roof'...awesome.
This was a great green thumb Sunday post.
Love the green roof. Excellent idea!!!
The pink poppy reminds me of when I bought poppies and were extremely careful to get only red ones.... Yes, you guessed right, there were 2 pink ones that sneaked in! *giggles*
The photo of the pavier poppy is really, really AWESOME.
Maybe you know my little fellow I present you to in my GTS...?
I want a vegetable garden...yours looks wonderful. Your roses are so beautiful. Being part of Green Thumb Sunday keeps me inspired.
Thanks for sharing.
It's all so lovely! Your roof is wonderful, and the raised beds should provide quite a harvest. You must be proud--all that hard work has paid off. How long will the roses keep blooming? Happy GTS,
Aiyana
Your green roof just keeps getting better and better.

Your David Austen's are just gorgeous! But I have to say that I love your raised planter with all its greens even better. There is something about veggies growing that is beautiful to me.

Thanks for showing more pics of your rooftop garden, I am glad it is such a success. The poppy is lovely, too.
Happy Green Thumb Sunday, Mark. I'm glad you like your green roof, although it is more colorful than it is green. :) ~~Dee
